Acoustic Signal Processing Engineer
AI
Optics11 is expanding its Underwater Acoustics R&D team with an Acoustic Signal Processing Engineer to solve challenging scientific and engineering problems. The role involves developing sonar processing algorithms, mathematical models, and software for fiber-optic sensing systems. Requires an MSc in a quantitative discipline, 1-3 years of experience, and strong programming skills.
What you'll do
- Execute acoustic modelling and signal processing tasks: Implement and improve algorithms and mathematical models for underwater acoustic sensing systems using principles from signal processing, applied mathematics, statistics, physics, and numerical methods.
- Analyze and interpret experimental data: Process and evaluate fiber-optic datasets from laboratory and field trials to extract insights that support design improvements and validation.
- Develop and test algorithms: Contribute to the development and testing of algorithms for beamforming, event detection, filtering, and data classification under guidance from senior engineers.
