Modash is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for its Data Search team to improve creator discovery across 400M+ profiles and billions of media files. The role involves building and owning large-scale retrieval, ranking, and multimodal embedding systems end to end, with a fully remote setup in Europe.

What you'll do

Improve creator search across 400M+ profiles and billions of media files, including retrieval, filtering, ranking, relevance, speed, and product decisions
Build systems that generate and use embeddings from images, video, text, and audio at massive scale
Evaluate models and technologies pragmatically, understanding tradeoffs around cost, latency, and quality
Move promising approaches from experiment to reliable production system within weeks
Shape the problem, gather requirements, design architecture, write code, release, measure outcomes, and improve
Work with Data Insights on new in-house datapoints and expose them in Search
Test reranking models on real customer queries and measure relevance against latency and inference cost
Review production metrics, investigate relevance regressions, and share learnings with the team
