Sr Software Engineer - Core Systems

Senior Software Engineer needed for Milence's Core Systems team in Amsterdam to design, build and operate cloud-native, event-driven systems for a heavy-duty transport charging network. Requires strong TypeScript, Node.js, React and cloud experience (Azure, AWS or GCP), plus DevOps and AI-assisted development practices.

What you'll do

Design and lead development of complex event-driven services, APIs and distributed applications using TypeScript, Node.js and modern cloud-native technologies
Take technical ownership of solutions within the Core Systems landscape, making architectural and design decisions
Contribute to customer-facing applications and internal platforms, including React-based applications and components
Design and optimise databases, data models and data flows
Drive improvements in CI/CD, automated testing, monitoring, observability and deployment practices
Use AI-assisted development tools and emerging AI capabilities to improve software development, testing, troubleshooting, documentation and engineering productivity
Identify opportunities to integrate AI capabilities into platforms, products and engineering workflows
Troubleshoot complex technical and operational issues, lead root cause analysis and implement structural improvements
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to other engineers
Collaborate closely with Software Engineering, Data, Product and business stakeholders
Proactively identify opportunities to improve architecture, development practices, tooling and ways of working
