Senior Backend Developer needed for a partner company building a high-performance technology platform for the global business aviation industry. Requires at least six years of Java backend experience, strong Spring Boot and Hibernate skills, and hands-on familiarity with LLM-based applications and agentic workflows. The role is fully remote from an eligible European country, with a focus on distributed systems, event-driven architecture, and AI integration.

What you'll do

Design, develop, maintain, and optimize backend services using Java and Spring Boot
Take ownership of software features throughout their lifecycle, from requirements to deployment and improvement
Build and maintain REST APIs for web, mobile, and external integrations
Develop and improve distributed services for reliability, scalability, and communication
Implement asynchronous processing and event-driven workflows using Apache Kafka or similar
Design and maintain relational data models using PostgreSQL and Hibernate
Apply LLMs, RAG, agent-tool interactions, and LLM orchestration to develop intelligent backend capabilities
Use AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, and GitHub Copilot
Write clean, well-tested code and apply functional programming principles
Collaborate with product managers and engineers to translate requirements into technical solutions
Identify opportunities to improve system performance, reliability, maintainability, and development efficiency
