Applied AI Engineer

Dwelly is building an AI operating system for residential lettings and is looking for an Applied AI Engineer to build agentic infrastructure that powers automation across the company. The role involves designing reusable agentic systems, evaluation and observability frameworks, and working closely with operational teams. Candidates should have strong software engineering experience, hands-on production AI experience, and advanced practical use of modern LLMs.

What you'll do

Design and build core primitives for agentic systems, including memory, context management, tool-calling, orchestration, and feedback loops.
Move from one-off AI solutions toward reusable infrastructure for new workflows.
Build evaluation framework to understand agent performance and reasons for success or failure.
Make testing, tracing, debugging, and evaluating AI systems fundamental to engineering process.
Develop systems to confidently assess agentic workflows before production deployment.
Push forward use of LLMs to build software, creating workflows with coding agents and subagents.
Use agentic engineering workflows in day-to-day development.
Design systems where specialized agents, tools, deterministic software, and humans work together effectively.
Act as bridge between complex operational workflows and engineering, identifying automation opportunities.
Help define architectural patterns for agentic systems as the company scales.
