Checkout.com is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to provide strategic technical leadership for its Experimentation and Decisioning Platform. The role involves driving technical direction, mentoring teams, and building scalable distributed systems in Go, with a focus on experimentation and optimization. The position is remote and based in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

What you'll do

Drive the long-term technical direction and strategy for the Experimentation and Optimisation platform.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Data Science, Platform and ML Engineering teams.
Act as a coach and mentor to engineering teams, providing technical leadership for complex distributed systems challenges in Go.
Proactively identify opportunities to elevate engineering standards within the pillar.
Translate requirements and architecture/design initiatives into clear, actionable engineering roadmaps.
Serve as a role model for engineering excellence, championing best practices in code, architecture and operational excellence.
