Xero is seeking a Lead Engineer for its Front End Platform & Design System team, responsible for shaping the technical direction of shared front end foundations across multiple teams. The role involves hands-on technical work, strategic influence, and coaching engineers, with a focus on React, TypeScript, CI/CD, and developer experience. This is a hybrid or fully remote position based on the East Coast of Australia.

What you'll do

Leading the technical direction of Xero’s front end
Guiding a modern front end stack (React, TypeScript, and associated tooling) across multiple teams
Influencing CI/CD and delivery pipeline improvements at a platform level
Shaping the longer term roadmap for front end performance, accessibility and developer experience
Leveraging Harness Engineering to modernise legacy front end pages and components
Building deep relationships across engineering, product and design
Coaching engineers toward their next level
