Woolworths Group is seeking a hands-on AI/ML Data Engineer (Senior/Lead) to design, build, and ship AI tools and products across its brands. The role works end to end across backend, frontend, and cloud on Google Cloud Platform within agile squads. Requires strong senior engineering experience in Python or TypeScript and proven hands-on experience building AI-enabled solutions such as agents, RAG, or LLM integrations.
What you'll do
- Lead the design, development, and operationalisation of AI products and multi-agent workflows in GCP, from first prototype to production
- Establish standards for evaluating AI systems, including eval datasets, data pipelines, data lineage, regression testing, observability, and reliable monitoring practices
- Track developments across coding agents, agent frameworks, distributed compute, and frontier and open-source models to bring high-impact capabilities into the team
