SGS Australia is seeking an experienced and commercially minded Business Manager – AI to lead the development and growth of AI and predictive intelligence solutions within its Industrial Asset Intelligence business. The role involves shaping the AI roadmap, guiding initiatives from discovery to commercial scale, and building predictive asset intelligence capabilities. Requires senior leadership experience in AI/ML, predictive analytics, and commercialisation within asset-intensive sectors.

What you'll do

Develop and maintain a commercially focused AI, data and predictive intelligence roadmap aligned with customer needs and business priorities.
Lead multidisciplinary teams through discovery, solution architecture, development, pilot, validation, deployment and ongoing support.
Translate operational and asset-management challenges into practical, secure and scalable AI-enabled solutions.
Build predictive asset intelligence capabilities using inspection, sensor, operational, engineering and historical data.
Establish clear stage gates and provide evidence-based recommendations on whether initiatives should stop, pivot, proceed or scale.
Partner with business and commercial leaders to turn proven capabilities into repeatable offerings, paid pilots, proposals and sustainable revenue opportunities.
Support AI use cases and business cases for the Network Operations Centre, Sovereign Data Centre and broader Digital Trust Chain.
Set fit-for-purpose standards for AI governance, model validation, monitoring, cybersecurity, data use, human oversight and lifecycle management.
Build collaboration across AI, data, software, robotics, sensing, engineering, operational technology and commercial teams.
Identify capability gaps and recommend recruitment, development, partnership, technology investment or acquisition strategies.
