Engineering Manager - AI Team

Nuix is building a new AI engineering team in Sydney and seeks an Engineering Manager to lead it end-to-end. The role owns the Enrich data-enrichment capability and the broader AI/agentic strategy, leading a distributed team across Australia, Ukraine, and the US. Requires at least 10 years of software engineering experience with proven engineering management of cross-timezone teams.

What you'll do

Lead, coach and grow a cross-timezone team (Australia, Ukraine, US) — hiring, onboarding, career development, performance and day-to-day support.
Own delivery: Partner with product managers to plan, prioritise, manage risk and dependencies, and provide predictable shipping of quality software across on-prem and SaaS.
Partner with the Product Manager to translate strategy into a viable, sequenced roadmap; give engineering input on feasibility, effort and trade-offs for AI and agentic initiatives.
Establish the ways of working that make a globally distributed team effective, protecting a healthy overlap between Sydney and remote members.
Be accountable for engineering quality and security outcomes — code and vulnerability scan reports addressed continuously, secure-by-design practices upheld.
Stay close enough to the technology to review designs, contribute to technical direction and support development — without being on the delivery critical path.
