Geospatial Data Scientist role with NSW DPIRD Forest Research in Parramatta, collating, validating, analysing and modelling spatial data using AI and statistical workflows. Requires a post-graduate degree with extensive applied experience in data and statistical sciences, plus experience with hyperspectral, multispectral and LiDAR data and strong programming skills.

What you'll do

Collate, validate, analyse and model spatial data using AI and statistical workflows
Produce spatial products and reports
Develop and apply machine learning, deep learning and statistical techniques to remotely sensed datasets
Assemble and curate analysis-ready data products
Publish and present findings to scientific, government and industry audiences
Help shape externally funded research proposals
Collaborate across government and academia
Occasional fieldwork in NSW forests to collect data
