Lendi Group is hiring a Software Engineer - AI to join its AI Engineering team, building AI-powered products and agentic systems across the full stack. The role involves TypeScript, Node.js, React, AWS, MongoDB, DynamoDB and Kafka, with a strong focus on LLMs, RAG and prompt engineering. It is a 12-month fixed-term maternity leave cover based in Sydney with hybrid working (2 days in office).

What you'll do

Design, build and maintain AI-powered applications, agentic systems and supporting services across Lendi Group's technology platform
Develop full-stack solutions using TypeScript, Node.js and React, working across frontend experiences, backend services, APIs and integrations
Build and integrate AI agents and intelligent workflows, applying concepts such as retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), prompt engineering, orchestration, structured outputs and evaluation
Contribute to Greenfield engineering projects, helping shape technical designs, architecture and implementation approaches from the ground up
Develop and maintain scalable, event-driven services using AWS technologies, MongoDB, DynamoDB, Kafka and cloud-native infrastructure
Take ownership of engineering work from initial design and development through to testing, deployment, production verification and ongoing improvement
Work closely with engineers, product teams and stakeholders to understand business problems, challenge requirements and identify practical technical solutions
Investigate and resolve complex technical issues using logs, tracing, debugging and evidence-based problem-solving
Contribute to technical design discussions, code reviews and collaborative problem-solving, sharing ideas and constructively challenging approaches
Deliver solutions iteratively, breaking complex problems into smaller, testable releases while balancing speed, quality, scalability and maintainability
Use AI-assisted development tools as part of your engineering workflow, applying sound judgement to validate outputs and maintain code quality
Stay across emerging AI technologies, tools and engineering practices, bringing new ideas and opportunities into the team
