Helia, Australia's first Lenders Mortgage Insurance provider, is seeking a Senior Engineer – Data & AI Platform in Sydney. The role involves designing and building an AI-native data platform within Snowflake, enabling AI workloads and intelligent applications. Requires strong experience with Snowflake, SQL, dbt, and Python, ideally including Snowpark.

What you'll do

Design and build scalable data pipelines and AI applications using Snowflake-native AI capabilities.
Enable in-database AI, LLM, vector and semantic workflows, reducing reliance on external processing.
Design and optimise data models and structures that support both analytical and AI workloads.
Contribute to the evolution of our AI-ready data architecture and enterprise data modelling approaches, including Data Vault and common data models.
Prepare and structure governed, high-quality data for AI, machine learning and advanced analytics.
Partner with AI engineers and technology teams to integrate Snowflake-hosted intelligence into applications and workflows.
Implement AI observability, monitoring and alerting to support reliable AI and data solutions.
Contribute to AI-enabled engineering practices and standards, using tools such as GitHub Copilot and Cortex Code.
Work with technical and business stakeholders to translate complex concepts into practical solutions and help build broader data and AI capability across the organisation.
