Staff Infrastructure Platform Engineer

Gridsight is seeking a Staff Infrastructure Platform Engineer to build and run the shared infrastructure platform for its grid analytics software. The role involves owning observability, delivery pipelines, secure multi-region infrastructure, and developer experience, with a focus on enabling product teams to self-serve. Requires ~8+ years of software engineering experience, including recent Staff-level work in platform, infrastructure, or SRE.

What you'll do

Build and run metrics, tracing, logging and alerting platform
Evolve and consolidate deployment pipelines, release management and infrastructure-as-code
Own environment management and test infrastructure
Design secure, cost-effective, multi-tenant, multi-region infrastructure
Work with IT Ops to build SOC 2 controls and evidence into the platform
Help define SLOs and error budgets
Improve incident response and learning
Participate in on-call rotation
Treat internal engineers as customers and improve developer experience
Leverage AI-assisted development tooling
Mentor engineers across teams
Run the platform as a product with clear interfaces, docs and support
Help set technical direction for platform work
Own a platform roadmap over multiple quarters
Shape decisions by writing clear proposals
Find highest-leverage problems
Define systems and practices others work within
Help shape the Infrastructure Platform team
