Deloitte is seeking an Observability Lead Engineer in Sydney to help clients simplify complex technology environments across legacy systems, cloud-native architecture and AI platforms. The role requires consulting experience, strong observability foundations in OpenTelemetry, platform engineering and SRE, practical AI fluency, and relevant AWS experience.

What you'll do

Design instrumentation and observability architectures for complex enterprise environments
Work with clients to define the right instrumentation and shape observability strategy
Design scalable architectures and turn telemetry into practical insight
Present recommendations to client technical leaders and explain design decisions
Work through trade-offs and stay accountable for turning thinking into outcomes
Help clients connect technical signals to business impact
Identify emerging reliability, cost, compliance or customer risks
Make AI and platform environments more observable, explainable and resilient
Balance scope, price, time and quality
