Settify, an Australian legal technology company, is rebuilding its consumer-facing AI/LegalTech product and seeks a Senior Software Engineer to build backend services in TypeScript/Node.js and own the AWS and AI infrastructure. The role is hybrid in Sydney (3 days in Barangaroo office, 2 days WFH) and requires 8+ years of production software experience with deep Node.js, AWS, infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, observability, and hands-on LLM infrastructure expertise.

What you'll do

Design and ship backend services in TypeScript / Node.js — APIs, data model, business logic, LLM integrations
Design schemas that survive contact with real users and changing requirements
Own meaningful slices of the product end-to-end — make the calls, ship the work, live with the results
Own our AWS infrastructure — Lambda, ECS, RDS, DynamoDB, SQS, VPC, IAM — managed as code with CDK
Improve CI/CD pipelines so developers can build, test, deploy and roll back with confidence
Own the AI infrastructure that powers Settify's LLM features — OpenAI (or equivalent) model access, Langfuse tracing, token/cost/latency monitoring, eval pipelines, rate limits, retries and timeouts
Build observability into the delivery pipeline itself: alert design, SLI/SLO definition, incident response
Help take Settify to new regions with repeatable regional deployments
Keep customer data secure — IAM, secrets, encryption, backups — as part of everyday operations and work toward SOC 2
