Principal Software Engineer role in the Customer Service Network Domain, transforming the ATM network with secure, resilient, cloud-native engineering at scale. Requires deep Java, Spring Boot, AWS and full-stack expertise with Principal-level technical leadership to shape architecture, modernise legacy systems and accelerate AI-powered engineering.

What you'll do

Shape architecture and define the target architecture for the ATM network transformation
Modernise legacy systems and simplify complex legacy estates
Design resilient cloud infrastructure and integrate a new Java-based ATM switch
Champion Terraform, quality engineering, fail-safe design, REST APIs and modern observability patterns
Apply AI-powered engineering including LLMs, knowledge graphs and agentic approaches across the SDLC
Mentor other engineers and influence engineering direction across the domain
Translate ambiguous business and domain challenges into clear architecture and engineering direction
Lead safe, large-scale modernisation of complex legacy environments
Design and evolve reliable integrations across interconnected platforms
Embed secure-by-design practices, resilience, performance engineering and observability
