Data Scientist (Masters)
AI
Data Scientist (Masters) role at Alignerr to train and audit advanced AI models by designing complex data science problems and ground-truth solutions. Fully remote, flexible hourly contract requiring graduate-level data science expertise. No prior AI industry experience needed.
What you'll do
- Design complex, domain-specific data science problems spanning hyperparameter optimization, Bayesian inference, cross-validation strategies, dimensionality reduction, and more to stress-test AI reasoning
- Develop rigorous, step-by-step technical solutions including Python/R scripts, SQL queries, and mathematical derivations as definitive reference answers
- Critically evaluate AI-produced code (Scikit-Learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow), data visualizations, and statistical summaries for correctness, efficiency, and best practices
- Identify and document logical failures in AI outputs such as data leakage, overfitting, improper handling of imbalanced datasets, and provide structured feedback to improve model behavior
